This oral steroid is extremely popular with strength athletes who do not have to be concerned about weight class (field athletes and strongmen), and with powerlifters . Clearly this is an effective drug for providing weight gain, rising appetite, gaining strength, and increasing red blood cell count .
And, as majority of anabolic / androgenic steroids /AAS/it has drawbacks too. Androlic 50 will inhibit your body’s natural production of hormones (testosterone, etc), will impair lipid profile in the blood, may cause water retention, is well known for causing headaches, and also is highly toxic to the liver (as a matter of fact,it has the worst reputation as one of the most toxic steroids ).
Ironically, although one of the perks promoted by its original manufacturer (Syntex) is that it can used for stimulating weight gain by enhancing appetite, taking too much can actually inhibit your appetite!
Dosage and cycles
Androlic is among the few steroids where the dosage respondent curve flattens out rapidly. If you take 50mgs of Androlic yout will make very good gains. If you take 100mgs of Androlic you will make even more profits. However, we have found that 100mgs / day is as effective for weight gain as 150 mg / day but causes fewer side effects and was less toxic.
Side effects
Since oxymetholone is 17-alkylated, it is distressing to the liver. It is better to restrict the use to no more than six weeks, or preferably four weeks before taking a pause of at least the same length.Most users feel that it is more effectively used in the initial parts of the cycle, but in the last weeks.
Our personal experience
We can tell you that gains from Androlic are pretty dramatic for the first 3 weeks and then rapidly stabilize. We feel that the jump from 50mgs to 100mgs represents an acceptable benefit compared to the cost , but this is not the case as the dose is over 100mgs.
Unfortunately, we find that the side effects experienced by Androlic (including headache, swelling, high blood pressure, and a general “unwell” feeling for me) remain for the whole duration of use. But we discovered as usual that the side effects of this drug are roughly half myth and half truth.
We found that anastrozole (which in some cases has been shown to lower estrogen in the body to an undetectable amount) can significantly reduce or even eliminate many of the most notable side effects such as swelling.
